Denver's Dreamiest Hotel

By , November 20th, 2014

The Mile High City has a posh downtown scene, a budding foodie culture, and did we mention the glorious mountain views? Now you can add Denver’s dream hotel to the city’s impressive portfolio. The Crawford Hotel is our dream hotel this week. Here’s why we love it:

The Crawford Hotel

Housed inside the newly revitalized Denver Union Station, The Crawford Hotel opened its doors a short four months ago and has already established a reputation as one of Denver’s best. This four and a half star, independent, luxury hotel, with an excellent trivago rating of 85, offers not only an unparalleled location among some of the city’s finest shops and restaurants, but creative yet timeless design, and amenities that will make you never want to leave. We talked to Area Managing Director Fred Kleisner, Area Marketing Manager Elizabeth Wirth, and Area Director of Sales and Marketing Todd Iseri to find out why the Crawford is beloved by travelers, locals, and staff alike.

Old Union Station in Denver

The new Denver Union Station was conceived as “Denver’s living room” — a place that would give locals a reason to visit the neighborhood, while embracing visitors from around the globe. The Great Hall serves as the hotel lobby, but remains a public space, setting the stage daily for photo shoots, meetings, and events, in addition to welcoming those who simply come to eat, shop or otherwise enjoy the local and indigenous retail and restaurants in this grand, historic space. “The amount of public interest for Union Station and The Crawford has been incredible,” says Kleisner, “We feel very connected to the community and are thrilled how engaged everyone is to learn more about this amazing project.” Because of the community interest, it is now even possible to tour the station and the hotel, but make sure to reserve a spot — the tours sell out well in advance.

Despite the hustle and bustle of the Great Hall, each of the hotel’s 112 uniquely decorated guest rooms provides a comfortable and stylish oasis in the heart of the city. From the loft-style attic rooms with the original wooden beams, to the elegant “Classic” rooms with soaring ceilings, to the “Pullman-style” art-deco rooms inspired by the luxury sleeping cars from train travel’s heyday, the Crawford combines the different eras of the building’s history flawlessly with modern style and opulence, and over 600 pieces of art, curated by NINE dot ARTS, ensure that each space has its own individual flavor.

The luxurious details don’t end with the design either. Each room comes equipped with an iPad Mini loaded with the Crawford’s very own app for use during your stay, and a 24-hour fitness center and access to the world-class Oxford Club, Spa & Salon (or in-room spa and salon services) will keep you relaxed and healthy. Although you could easily spend your entire trip sampling the restaurants and shops inside Union Station, if you do want to explore the city, you can utilize Denver’s B Cycle bike share program, or better yet, the hotel’s own, chauffeur driven Tesla, which will take you anywhere you want to go within two miles of Union Station.
