The Newest Gay Hotels in NYC

Who’s new on the scene for Gay-friendly hotels in New York City?

Well, hold up. No, we’re not talking properties here that have recently come out of the closet. Rather, these are the newest gay hotels in NYC that are proud to have had their grand openings (or a fab remodel) recently and ready to welcome guests of all different persuasions.

Though there are hotels that prefer to self-identify as gay (with The Out NYC firmly planted on the local gaydar), the reality of LGBT hospitality in New York these days is a friendly one. Coming to town with your significant other? Finding the best hotel for NYC Pride with friends? A staycation weekend in the City? These are the stays that you’ve been looking for on the other side of the rainbow.

The Renwick Hotel

1/2

Literati or gliterati, The Renwick Hotel is sure to please both sets thanks to fashionably-designed space honoring the property’s connection to past guests like John Steinbeck and F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Airy loft-style spaces feature artistic muses and travel thoughts from famous authors. Don’t miss out on grabbing an order of Green Eggs & Porchetta for brunch at Bedford & Co. (with a morning Mimosa for good measure). Ho’yeah, and there’s also a Gertrude Stein Suite (complete with wall art based on her trademark ‘A rose is a rose’).

Kimpton Eventi

1/2

Expect spacious rooms with a subdued swagger at the Kimpton Eventi. Recently renovated rooms at the hotel include luxe touches like marble showers and floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto Manhattan.

A nightly wine hour, free bike rentals and tech accessory loans are just some of the ways that the hotel rolls out the welcome mat to its guests. Meanwhile, three in-house restaurants (The Vine, L’Amico and Lupulo) draw both guests and hungry New Yorkers in.

The Roxy

1/3

Things are buzzing at The Roxy. You could easily spend a night roaming the hotel passing from The Django (an underground jazz club) to The Roxy Cinema (with its listings of arthouse and classic flicks) to Paul’s Cocktail bar (with entry left to the doorman’s discretion!).

Back in your room, it’s all about working the retro chic with niceties like goose down duvets, pillow-top mattresses, a Smeg mini-bar and Five Wits bath products. We bet you’ll want to check in, but we’re not likely to put our money on an on-time check-out.
