#GoBeKind in Denver

By , November 3rd, 2015

#GoBeKind! trivago is working with Leon Logothesis to spread a contagious chain reaction of kindness across America. Want to give back or pay it forward? It can be as fun as walking some dogs at the local shelter or as big as tutoring someone to get their GED. Visiting Denver? Even a simple hotel stay can spark some kindness on your part. Here’s a few ideas for ways you can make your visit to Denver filled with kindness.

How your hotel stay can help spread kindness

The Crawford Hotel Denver

History meets glamour and a charitable heart. Photo courtesy of the Crawford Hotel Facebook Page.

The Crawford Hotel housed in an iconic Denver landmark, Union Station, melds luxury (such as rain showers) with old world glamour (the beautiful claw-foot bathtubs). Just steps away from Denver’s best wine-ing and dine-ing, as well as shopping and sporting at the Coors Field and the city’s extensive bike and running paths, the beautiful hotel helps keep their city sweet: as part of Sage hospitality, the hotel contributes to several charities the group regularly supports. One such program is Dollars for Dreams which raises funds each quarter for different recipients such as the National Children’s Cancer Society, the Make-a-Wish foundation and UNICEF, among others, through employee contributions, bake sales and fundraising.

The Oxford Hotel is among Denver’s oldest and best preserved historic hotels, having opened downtown in 1891. Also operated by Sage hospitality, they are currently focused their charitable efforts on the Best in Class School Partnership Program for Sage’s Dollars for Dreams recipient. The hotel has been partnered with a local school and will help with necessary upgrades, tutoring and school supplies that will help push these low-income, at-risk schools in a direction which sets its students up for future success.

Four Seasons Denver

The posh Four Seasons Denver boasts deep soaking tubs that have panoramic views of the mile-high city, a soothing color-scheme and a decidedly posh setting where you’ll nonetheless be able to unwind and enjoy the elegance it offers. Looking to go a bit further than just beauty? Talk to the Concierge Team to review several of the Voluntourism options the hotel has begun to offer. They’ll tailor some opportunities to volunteer in and around the city to your schedule and interests. One day you might be helping out at the Brandon Center and Theodora House, a shelter for homeless women, children and female veterans, and the next day you could be saddling up some mustangs at the Saddle Up! Foundation, helping riders with special needs — the choice is yours and the opportunity to #GoBeKind is very much a part of the Four Seasons Denver experience.

Project Angel Heart

Started in 1991, Project Angel heart was founded to help improve the quality of life of Coloradans living with life threatening diseases who might be too sick or weak to buy or prepare themselves nutritious meals. The project started as a way to help individuals living with HIV/AIDS but expanded to help more than 900 clients a week living with a variety of illnesses with the meals being tailored to many different special diets. Volunteer positions include delivering the meals as well a stirring, chopping and answering phones.

MaxFund Adoption Center

MaxFund Animal Adoption center is leading the no-kill animal shelter movement in Colorado with over 1500 animals adopted in 2014 and over 4500 animals spayed and neutered to prevent unwanted animals in the city. The animals are carefully rehabilitated and assessed before being re-homed and effectively given a second chance at a better life. They are always looking for foster homes and volunteers to help keep the center running and give the animals some much needed love — which you get back two-fold. What a way to #GoBeKind!

Anchor Center For Blind Children

The Anchor Center for Blind Children in Denver strives to equip children with the ability to maximize the use of any vision they have as well as guiding them through the use of their senses and helping prepare them for success in school and the world around them.  Volunteers with the Anchor Center help with everything from babysitting, administrative work, helping with fundraising or even serving on the Board of Directors and Advisory Council.
