#GoBeKind in New York City

By , October 13th, 2015

#GoBeKind! trivago is working with Leon Logothesis to spread a contagious chain reaction of kindness across America. Want to give back or pay it forward? It can be as little as buying a cup of coffee for a stranger to committing to an organization that is contributing to a cause you share a passion for. Visiting New York City? Even a simple hotel stay can spark some kindness on your part. Here’s a few ways you can make your visit to New York City filled with kindness.

Hotel Belleclaire believes in giving back to the city they love: their involvement in New York City based organizations like the Food Bank of New York and homeless shelters across town will leave you with a warm feeling in your heart when you cozy under their plush duvets. They also work with larger organizations like Locks of Love, who provide hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children who are suffering from medical conditions as well as participating every year in the AIDS walk.

Boutique hotel chain Kimpton prides itself on its involvement on both a national and local level. Founded in San Francisco, a cause particularly dear to the generous Kimpton hearts is the LGBT community, in particular the Trevor Project, the largest crisis and suicide prevention lifeline for LGBT youth. To help out, they regularly donate room nights, meeting spaces and catering so that the project can continually provide a safe and judgement free outlet for those who need it. Your stay at the fashionable The Muse or Ink48 contributes to saving lives of some outstanding youth. Kimpton is also incredibly involved in environmental causes as well as Dress For Success, a not-for-profit program which helps women gain jobs and achieve economic independence.

The Gem Hotel in Chelsea might be located in the stylish Chelsea neighborhood, surrounded by ritzy art galleries and nightclubs but it doesn’t make them the least bit snooty. They’ve helped renovate under-capitalized public schools and community centers in New York and participate in many clothing and food drives to lend a hand to their neighbors in need. Their concierge service doesn’t just make dinner reservations at that restaurant you’ve been coveting — they can also connect interested guests who want to pay it forward to programs that help the city #GoBeKind.
