Bringing the whole family to the theme parks of Orlando can be hectic. Braving the crowds and line-ups day after day would cause enough of your nerves to frazzle. To alleviate this stress, we’ve picked out some hotels in Orlando that feature pool complexes that will keep the family occupied during those non-Disney days. So relax poolside and enjoy the Florida sun!
Hit the water slides
The Orlando World Marriott brings their Falls Pool Oasis pool game to the big leagues. Their recent pool makeover saw the installation of two 200-foot winding water slides, a 90-foot speed water slide as well as lots of pool space. The hotel is a short jaunt from Disney World, SeaWorld and Universal Studios, however there is no lack of amusement at the resort!
Hide and seek in the fortress
Each of Disney’s six Caribbean Beach villages has its own elaborate pool along with the gigantic Spanish-fortress themed main pool complete with water cannons and water slides that will have your kids in their bathing suits before you’re even done checking in.
Coordinate your underwater dance to music
The Hard Rock Hotel brings the party poolside. A sand beach, a 260-foot slide, interactive fountains and play area will delight the whole family to no end and the underwater sound system will have everyone dancing.
Relax under the waterfalls
While we doubt you’ll get bored poolside with the half-acre-large, grotto-themed pool with 12 waterfalls, a water slide tower, and even a rock-climbing station, but the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress also has a lake. Indeed! With 1000 feet of sandy beach access on the private lake Windsong you can do water sports and or build sand castles galore.
Unwind in a jacuzzi
The huge pool complex at the Floridays Resort Orlando has options for the enthusiastic lap swimmer, the water splasher and the Jacuzzi chiller. With so many options for dunking out of the hot Florida sun, you’ll have to get the whiteboard marker out and create an activity schedule just for the pools here.
Practice your sloth impression in the lazy river
The JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes is part of the huge Ritz-Carlton-Marriott complex. With poolside dining and drinks, an enormous lazy river outdoor pool, you won’t have to leave the water till your fingers are pruney. Remember to wait 30 minutes after eating before getting in the water! Just kidding–that’s an old wives tale.
Plenty of room to spread out in the water
Take a break from the cannonballs and hit up the lap pool while the kids enjoy the interactive play area. The Marriott’s Grande Vista resort has four swimming pools, giving you plenty of space to spread out, as well as whirlpool spas, steam rooms and saunas.
