Rock On Ritz-Carlton: A Luxury Favorite Finishes Renovations in Cleveland

By Joe Baur,

The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland recently capped an 18-month-long, multi-million dollar renovation process aimed at improving 206 of the hotel’s luxury guestrooms and public spaces with a grand reopening. Mayor Frank Jackson and general manager Yael Ron were on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony during a private event to present the hotel’s new look.

“We are thrilled to unveil this beautiful and complete transformation,” said Yael Ron, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland. “Our commitment to sharing the wonders of Cleveland with guests from throughout the world is behind this effort. I can think of no more warm, welcoming city than Cleveland, and we are so grateful for the opportunity help our guests live and breathe all that the city has to offer.”

This is the first major renovation to the hotel since opening back in 1991. Modernizing the hotel was the primary goal of the renovation, which is known to be a favorite of musicians and other celebrities traveling through Cleveland.

In hopes of reinventing itself, The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland took a chapter out of the city’s industrial, steel-making history to exude an energy of strength and community while embodying an elegance that speaks to the property’s functionality and connectivity within the city. Incoming guests will see a fresh palette of colors at the hotel with a blend of clear, clean blues, taupes, and grays inspired largely by Lake Erie — which itself is visible from various points of the property.

Detroit-based developed Bedrock led the redesign which included a new restaurant opening, TURN Bar + Kitchen, and Core — a fitness center constructed with more intense road warriors in mind. Core comes equipped with advanced training and equipment options inspired by the various professional athletes and team trainers who call Cleveland home.

Guests can also expect to find a boost among the service of The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland’s staff. Their reimagining of the concierge concept includes training to better connect guests with the best ways to experience the vastly revitalized downtown — and the best way to capture it all on camera.
